About the USNS Dahl

Join us as we tour the new Warrior Ice Arena, the Boston Bruins' new training and practice facility that is also available to the public. The 200 x 85 foot arena complex hosts college, high school, youth and amateur level hockey with seating for 500 spectators. An immersive hospitality suite is available for corporate and institutional gatherings. Warrior Ice Arena features concession stands provide healthy food options and there is parking available onsite.
The arena is part of the Boston Landing mixed-use development which encompasses approximately 14 acres of land along the Massachusetts Turnpike in Boston's Brighton neighborhood. Located adjacent to the existing New Balance World Headquarters Building, the site is a former industrial area that once served as the region's largest stockyard.
Parking Map and Directions
The parking garage for Warrior Ice Arena is located at the rear of the building and should be accessed via the Service Road that runs parallel with the Massachusetts Turnpike.   Access to the Service Road is to the left (west) of 90 Guest Street or to the right (east) of the New Balance World Headquarters Building. Fees may apply.

AFE Chapter 33’s January tour, hosted by the Boston Ship Yard, will be a rare opportunity to tour a unique military ship in dry dock. The USNS Dahl is part of the Sealift Command’s large, Roll on/Roll off ships. She is named after Medal of Honor recipient Specialist Larry G. Dahl.

 

The ship was launched is 1998 and put into service in 1999. She is 950 feet in length, 106’ in beam with a displacement of 62,444 tons. This gas turbine driven ship is capable of 24 knots and is currently in dry dock for repairs and maintenance. Come experience and learn about this unique ship. The tour will require a hard hat and good walking shoes for touring the vessel.
