About the Museum
The MIT Museum attracts 150,000 people annually including many international visitors. The Museum is located in a multi-use building at 265 Massachusetts Avenue, just up the street from the main MIT building and campus. Its 52,000 square feet includes galleries, offices, collection storage, and education space.

The MIT Museum has both permanent collections and changing exhibitions on two floors, an education classroom, and an online and onsite science-themed store.
Through a range of programs for a variety of ages, the MIT Museum offers talks, tours, conversations, hands-on activities, educational workshops, 21+ evenings, family events, and festivals.
Collections
The MIT Museum has just over a million objects in its collections, including the world’s most comprehensive collection of holograms, the Hart Nautical Collection, and the Institute’s Architecture and Design Collection, which ranks among the top architectural drawing collections in the world. Many of these objects can be found in the museum's online collections database.
